Alight adds a Legal Counsel to its pan-European team

Jacob Thulesius joins Alight as Legal Counsel and will be focused on commercial agreements and also contribute to strengthening our debt financing capabilities.

He is a business lawyer with broad experience of European transactions and financing, both from Mannheimer Swartling (the largest law firm in Sweden) where he focused on M&A and banking & financing, and then moved on to Heimstaden (the second largest residential real estate investor in Europe) where he has worked extensively with project financing.

Jacob was recently awarded Assignment of Year for his critical role in securing one of the biggest real estate transactions in Europe – Heimstaden’s acquisition of a €9 billion property portfolio. The award is a sub-category of Corporate Lawyer of the Year 2022, which is handed out by the Swedish Corporate Lawyers Association, Affärsvärlden (Sweden’s leading business magazine) and the law firm Vinge.

Why did you want to join Alight?
– Getting to know Alight, I became deeply impressed by the superb team and the exciting business model and vision. For some time, I’ve also longed to use my skills for a clearer purpose, so joining the solar revolution and helping push the clean energy transition feels really great.

Outside work and family life, Jacob enjoys making music. He used to be the lead singer and guitarist of the soul/funk band Bowties (listen here). These days, a highlight of the week is bringing one of his 9 guitars or basses to jam nights on Mondays with his musician friends.
